Carat, Diamond certificate, 4C diamond, diamond to be mounted, diamond on paper, cut diamond, rough diamond, fluorescence diamond, diamond inclusions

 Carat
Unit of weight of a diamond (see our point on the diamond weight)

 Diamond certificate
The identity card of each diamond sums up the characteristics of diamond (see our point on diamond certification)

 4 C diamond
It is the 4 characteristics that give the diamond value and quality. We use currently the expression because C is the first letter of the 4 characteristics: Colour, Cut, Clarity and Cara weight.

 Diamond to be mounted
It is a cut diamond ready to be mounted, also called diamond on paper

 Diamant on paper
It is a cut diamond ready to be mounted.

 Cut Diamond
It is different from the rough diamond; a cut diamond has been processed to have a special shape (see our point on diamond cutting)

 Rough Diamond
It is a diamond as its name indicates it that has been extracted without being processed.

 Fluorescence diamond
The fluorescence of a diamond comes from the reactivity between light and diamond atom. This fluorescence is often blue and visible to the naked eye. We test this property by exposing the diamond to UV rays (a dark diamond is not fluorescent). There are several levels of fluorescence (“none”) until diamond having a fluorescence qualified as “very strong”. The more the fluorescence is high, the more the diamond is blue.

 Inclusions of a diamond
Defects/imperfections of a diamond (see our point on diamond certification)
